The Black Sea area is an important crossroads, it connects Eastern Europe, Southeastern Europe, the Caucasus region, and the Middle East. About one-sixth the size of the Mediterranean Sea, it is connected to that body of water (and thence to the Atlantic Ocean) via the Bosphorus and Dardanelles straits. The Black Sea is the terminus for some of the most important rivers in Europe, including the Danube, Dneiper, and Don Rivers. Six nations have Black Sea coastline: Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Russia, Turkey, and the Ukraine. For all of these except Russia and Turkey, the Black Sea is the sole means of reaching the world's ocean system by ship. Here are the best drone videos from this ancient and mysterious region, home to some of the world's oldest seaports.
