FPV With DJI

For first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor icelandaerials brings us this absolutely spectacular first person view (FPV) drone video of an erupting volcano in Iceland.  The video was filmed over and around the Fagradalsfjall volcano, which began spewing lava in late March, 2021.  The eruption marks the start of a long-awaited resurgence of volcanic activity on the Reykjanes Peninsula, in southwestern Iceland.  Highly cinematic,  this video was an easy choice for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in March, 2021.

Top content creator and first person view (FPV) pilot Ollie FPV earned himself another spot on the AirVuz FPV Pilots to Watch list for this excellent reel of his best footage from 2020.  Opening with some epic footage surfing along a mountain ridge, the video alternates between cinematic landscape shots and some amazing dynamic scenes, mostly chasing mountain bikers.  Much of the footage was shot in Iceland, which has become a magnet for talented (and brave) FPV pilots around the world due to its stunning landscapes.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist and Drone Video Award Nominee scientik brings us this spectacular drone video from the magical North Atlantic island nation of Iceland.  Shot with a combination of cameras, including those mounted to the DJI Mavic Pro 2, Phantom 4, and new FPV drone, the video was filmed over the course of two trips to Iceland, one of which was undertaken as part of a Czech TV project.   Stunningly beautiful, this video was picked as the Winner of the Drone Video of the Week contest in April, 2021.  

In this fantastic first person view (FPV) drone video, shamkhal_fpv will give you a unique perspective of a famous spot in the Ukraine: the abandoned town of Pripyat.   This once-closed town was the home of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, whose No. 4 reactor exploded in April, 1986.  Still considered the worst nuclear power accident in history, the explosion sent radioactive contamination across Europe.  The town, which was once home to 50,000, is completely abandoned.  This video made the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April, 2021.  

The new first person view (FPV) drone from DJI is allowing pilots who have used gimbal-stabilized DJI products such as the Mavic series transition to the exciting world of FPV flight.  Top contributor and pilot haussmannvisuals is one of these pilots.  Having filmed numerous volcanoes around the world, it's perhaps not surprising that he took his new DJI FPV quad to the Icelandic volcano of Geldingadalir, which began erupting in March of 2021.  This video was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in April, 2021.  

Award-winning contributor and pilot Postandfly used the new DJI first person view (FPV) drone to create this unique perspective of a beautiful spot in Northern Mexico.  The video was filmed over the Jardín Escultórico Edward James (Las Pozas), a group of sculptures, man-made waterfalls, and pools in the rainforests near the town of Xilitla, in the state of San Luis Potosí.  Like other experienced aerial cinematographers, Postandfly has ventured into the world of FPV flight, which opens up new vistas in content creation. 

Top AirVuz content creator and first person view (FPV) pilot rememorales brings us this excellent FPV mini-tour of the city of Tbilisi in the Caucasus republic of Georgia.  The video opens with a fly-over of the Mother of Georgia (Kartlis Deda) statue atop Sololaki Hill, followed by (starting at the :08 mark) the Chronicle of Georgia monument near the reservoir known as the Tbilisi Sea.  Other featured locations include the Ferris wheel at Mtatsminda Park, the Bridge of Peace (:20), the Narikala Fortress (:42), and more.  This video was a DVOY finalist in 2021. 

Talented contributor Jturner shows off the power of the DJI FPV drone with this incredible piece, shot over Iceland's erupting Fagradalsfjall Volcano.  Located on the Reykjanes Peninsula just a short drive from Reykjavik in the island's southwestern corner, the volcano began erupting in the late Winter of 2021.  The eruption is believed to herald the long-anticipated resumption of volcanic activity in this part of Iceland, which has been quiet for centuries.  This video was picked for the Drone Video of the Week contest in July, 2021.
