Southeastern China consists of its coastal provinces south of the Yangtze River Delta. It includes the province of Guangzhou, the country's most populous. Guangzhou is on the Pearl River Delta, a region which also includes the semi-autonomous territories of Hong Kong and Macau and which in many respects is the economic dynamo of Southeast Asia. It also includes other important coastal provinces like Fujian, Zhejang, and Guangzhi. Southeastern China features some of the world's tallest skyscrapers, one of its most important rivers, and some of its greatest seaports. China's Pingtan Island is located off the coast of its Fujian Province in the southeastern part of the country. China's fifth largest island by land area, it's also the closest spot to Tapei, the capital of Taiwan. It is now connected to the mainland via a bridge that was completed in 2010. By virtue of its position, the island marks the dividing line between the East China Sea and the South China Sea. It's actually not a single bridge but three bridges, an underwater tunnel, and a series of artificial islands. It connects the cities of Hong Kong and Macau, the two main cities at the mouth of the Pearl River estuary, both of which are semi-autonomous regions within China. The span was completed in early 2018, and cost nearly US $20 billion to build.

Qiandao Lake is an artificial body of water in Zhejiang, a province in the southern half of China's eastern coastline. The lake was created as part of a giant hydroelectric project undertaken by the Maoist government in the 1950s. The project interrupts the river's flow towards Hangzhou Bay and created not only a lake but a lake with literally thousands of (mostly tiny) islands. Known for its mountains and coastal cities, Fujian is a southeastern Chinese province. Fujian tulou are Chinese rural dwellings unique to the Hakka people who have lived in the areas for centuries. These homes were mostly built between the 12th and 20th centuries, and 46 of them were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage sites in 2008. The power of the DJI Mavic Pro 2 is on full display here in this epic video of Shenzhen, China, compliments of contributor Caldina3188. The focus of the video is on two of the tallest skyscrapers in this gigantic city on the Pearl River Delta. The taller of the two is the 100 story KK100 building; at 442 meters (a little over 1.4k ft.), it's #2 in Shenzen and #14 in the world as of early 2019. The other building featured is the twin-spired Shun Hing Square; now #5, this 69 story tower was the city's tallest from 1996-2011.

The video features footage shot beginning in December, 2019, just before the city authorities issued their first warning about a possible infectious disease breakout, and running to April, 2020. Check out this drone video of a top tourist destination on the coast of Southeastern China, compliments of MariusMiginis. It's the Xiaomeisha Sea World, an entertainment complex which opened in 1998 on a strip of coastline just east of Shenzen. It's located just off of Xiaomeisha Beach on Mirs Bay, an area sometimes called the "Oriental Hawaii". Xiaomeisha Sea World is China's leading marine-based theme park, and its attractions include multiple aquariums and a rail-based exhibition hall.

Here's a nice aerial view of the Yunhe Rice Terraces in Southeastern China, compliments of jojodidi. The terraces are located in Yunhe County, which sits in the inland (western) portion of Zhejiang, the coastal province immediately to the south of Shanghai. These are the largest set of rice terraces in eastern China; there are up to 700 individual "layers" in places. The terrace area covers just over 50 square km or just under 20 square mi.; the highest of them sit at about 1.4k meters or around 5.6k ft. above sea level.

Check out this outstanding aerial tour of the Chinese-controlled city of Macau, compliments of caldina3188. Situated across the Zhujiang River Estuary from Hong Kong, this former Portuguese colony is the world's leading gambing city: Macau's gambling revenue was more than 4x the Las Vegas take in 2018. The "star" of the video is the distinctively gold-roofed Grand Lisboa casino. Opened in 2007, the 47-story complex stands just over 260 meters (856 ft.), making it the city's tallest by a wide margin.

When the KK100 building was completed in 2011, the 100 story building was the city's tallest at 442 meters (just under 1.45k ft.). The video also features the 69 story Shun Hing Square, the city's tallest from 1996 until being dethroned by the KK100. In 2017, both were surpassed by the Ping An Tower, although the two remain amongst the country's 20 tallest.
