2021 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 33

Multiple Drone Video of the Week/Month Winner vitaliy.karpovich brings us this fantastic drone video of Grodno, Belarus.  Situated on the Neman River, Grodno is one of the main cities of western Belarus.  Nearly 1,000 years old, at various times Grodno was part of the Polish Lithuanian Kingdom, the Russian Empire, Poland, and the Soviet Union.   Video highlights include the New Grodno Castle (at about the :18 mark), the Bernardine Monastery (:45), and the Baroque classic St. Francis Xavier Cathedral (1:05).

Here's a beautiful drone video of an island off the coast of Brazil, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot godronnerecife.  The Fernando de Noronha is located about 220 mi. (around 350 km) off the mainland coast of the northeastern state of Pernambuco.  The island is the largest of its namesake archipelago and the only one of the 21 which is inhabited.  Due to its importance as a feeding ground for sharks, tuna, marine mammals, and other species, it's designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site.  

Lagos is one of the most well-known beach town of Portugal's Algarve region, which covers the southern part of the country.  Situated at the mouth of the Bensafrim River on the Bay of Cadiz, Lagos regularly appears atop authoritative lists of the world's most popular beach destinations.  Historically associated with Portugal's great Age of Discovery which began in the 15th century, Lagos now known for its spectacular offshore rock formations.  Check out Lagos from above in this fantastic video by alicjapietrasz.

AirVuz contributor raguayo_arenas brings us this excellent drone video from the Pacific Ocean coastline of Chile.  The video was filmed near the town of Quintay in the Valparaiso Region, roughly in the middle of the Chilean coastline. The video features footage of an old whaling station which has been converted into a museum.  Chile's whaling trade, which rose to prominence in the 1940's before coming to a near-complete halt in the 1960's.  This video was a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest in August, 2021.

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot FPVFlow used a 7 inch FPV drone to create this fantastic coastal cruising piece from the Mediteranean Sea.  The video was shot off the coast of Isola di Figarolo, a small island which lies off the coast of the larger Italian island of Sardinia, near the Gulf of Arancia in the northeastern part of Sardinia.   Stunningly cinematic, this video was picked by the AirVuz editorial staff as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest in August, 2021.
