2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 48

Contributor davidaguilar is one of the top content creators in the AirVuz community; as of November, 2020, he's won the Drone Video of the Week on three separate occasions, and his piece "Magic Iceland" was the People's Choice winner at the second annual Drone Video Awards.  All good reasons to watch this magnificent video he created from the French and Swiss Alps.  Shot with a DJI Mavic Air drone at the height of the Fall color season, the video provides epic glimpses of some of the world's most beautiful scenery.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor jens 10000 brings us this fantastic DVOW nominated reel covering some of his travels around the world.  A pilot who does freelance director of photography work for some of the largest German TV stations, his captioned reel will take you to the following locations: the Dolomite Mountains in Italy; the mountains of Peru; the savannahs of South Africa and Namibia; the Spanish island of Mallorca; the Mediterranean island of Cyprus; plus spots in Canada, England, Mexico, and his native Germany.  

Top contributor and drone pilot Alta Movie srl brings us this breathtaking DVOW nominated film from the great city of Rome, Italy.  The video opens with shots of the Victor Emmanuel II Monument on the Piazza Venezia, before cutting over to the opposite side of the Tiber River for shots of St. Peter's Basilica and Square in Vatican City.    Starting at the :34 mark, there's a nice shot of the Castel Sant'Angelo; following which you'll be taken to the southeast to see the Colosseum, the Arch of Constantine, and the ruins of the Forum.  

Check out this fantastic DVOW nominated film from top contributor ugurevin.  The video opens with some spectacular shots of frozen Lake Baikal in Russia, including some astounding top-down shots over the ice.   At about the :25 mark, the scene shifts to Turkey, with a great reverse shot of some hikers on a snow-covered ridge, the Ishak Pasha Palace in the shadow of Mt. Ararat, followed by the Cathedral of the Holy Cross on an island in Lake Van, the abandoned Armenian village of Ani, and the Eastern Express passenger train in Kars Province.  

AirVuz contributor and pilot samibyala brings us this stunning DVOW nominated video from an abandoned village in the mountains of Libya.  The village is called Wefat is Amazigh, and it's located near the town of Jadu in the Infusen Mountains.  Sometimes called the Nafusa Mountains, these peaks are located in the northwestern corner of the country, just a bit south of its Mediterranean Sea coastline.  Historically, this region was home to much of the country's Berber population.  The area saw fierce fighting during the Libyan Civil War of 2011.
