2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 12

Ravaged by the worldwide Covid-19 coronavirus outbreak, Italy went into a virtual national quarantine in mid-March, 2020. The emergency actions, desperately needed to stem an outbreak claiming hundreds of lives a day, effectively closed one of the world's most beautiful countries to international and even domestic travelers. To help us all remember what awaits when the epidemic recedes, new AirVuz contributor Ale_headshot brings us this wonderful aerial collage of Italy before the epidemic took hold here. This video won DVOW in March 2020.

Top AirVuz contributor iDrone Aerials put together this DVOW nominated film from Amsterdam, Netherlands.  Shot using both drone and ground camera footage, the video will take you around the great city on the Amstel River. At the :11 mark there's a great shot of the city's Old Church (Oude Kerk), followed by some great shots of the Rijksmuseum, the country's largest museum.  At the :43 mark, you'll get an aerial view of the A'Dam Lookout observation deck.  The video was produced in connection with a music/dance event in the city.  

Top AirVuz contributor T.E.S.T. Srls put together this fantastic aerial reel showing the highlights of their work over the course of 2019. This DVOW nominated reel features footage from across Italy as well as from Abu Dhabi, one of the Emirates which make up the Middle Eastern nation of the United Arab Emirates. The video features some amazing footage of the landscapes and people of both countries, skillfully edited for maximum visual appeal. Treat yourself to epic shots ranging from the rolling hills of Tuscany to the great UAE deserts.

Top AirVuz contributor and pilot BeemFlights brings us this DVOW nominated film from the great Indonesian city of Bandung. The capital of the province of West Java, Bandung is the country's fourth largest city (after Jakarta, Surabaya, and Bekasi) and the center of its third-largest metropolitan area.  Situated in a river valley and surrounded by mountains, Bandung's elevation of 770 meters above sea level (around 2.5k ft.) provides it with cooler climate compared to the country's other large cities.  

Take in these stunning aerial views from an eight-day trip through Spain in the Summer of 2019, compliments of contributor antoncha. Featured locations include the Montserrat Monastery in Catalonia, the parish of Covadonga in the northwestern region of Asturias, San Juan de Gaztelugatxe and Butrón Castle in the Basque Country region, the Bardenas Reales desert in the northern region of Navarre, the town of Villajoyosa in the Alicante Province in the east-central Valencia Region, and more. This video was a DVOW finalist in March 2020.
