The Drone Racing League (DRL) has carved out a clear position as the leader in professional competitive drone racing. Launched in 2015, the league has been responsible for bringing the thrill of drone racing to a worldwide television and internet audience numbering in the millions. DRL races use specially configured racing quadcopters on highly sophisticated (and demanding) purpose-built courses in some of the world's most scenic locations. This ensures that the competition is decided on the basis of piloting skills, and that viewers receive a totally immersive experience. After airing its first three seasons on ESPN, the DRL recently announced that its 2019 DRL Allianz World Championship Season will be broadcast on NBC and live-streamed via a partnership with Twitter. The agreement effectively cements the DRL's position as the Formula 1 of the emerging world of drone racing.
AirVuz has been proud to sponsor several DRL pilots since the series began, including Season 3 Champion nurkfpv and runners-up Wild Willy FPV and Gab707, the legendary JohnnyFPV, and newly-announced Season 4 racer phluxyFPV. These pilots regularly post new videos to their AirVuz profiles, showing how much they are constantly pushing their technical flying performance as well as their video capture and editing capabilities. By combining their world-class piloting skills with an increasingly sophisticated approach to creating immersive FPV freestyle content, they are setting new frontiers in terms of how we are able to view the world around us.
In this collection, we've assembled some of our best DRL-related content, including some of the best drone videos from DRL pilots, AirVuz News stories about the DRL, and Behind the Goggles episodes featuring these world-class drone racers and content creators.
