For a first upload to AirVuz, new contributor BavarianTraveller brings us this video of a land far from southern Germany - the Australian state of Queensland.  The country's second-largest state by land area, Queensland covers over 1.7 million square km (around 670k square mi.)  The state is best known for its enormously long eastern coastline, which stretches for thousands of km/mi along the Coral Sea.  The video features some great footage of some of these famous beaches, as well as of the state's massive interior.

Brisbane is the largest city in Australia's Queensland state,  which covers the northeast corner of the country.  In this video, top AirVuz content creator and pilot Paul Vlad flew his DJI Mavic Pro drone over Brisbane at sunrise, creating a marvelous aerial perspective of Australia's third largest urban area after Sydney and Melbourne, both of which lie to the south of Brisbane.  Brisbane sits on the Brisbane River, a few km/mi upstream of where it empties into Moreton Bay on the Coral Sea.

The Babinda Boulders form a natural pool where three streams come together in the Cairns Region on the northern coast of Queensland, the northeastern state of Australia.  Because of the fast-moving currents running over the rocks, the site is sometimes referred to as the Devil's Pool.  The boulders' origin is the subject of a local legend involving a young warrior and his lover.  Content creator and pilot Y0shi flew a drone over the Babindas to create an amazing aerial video of one of the world's most distinctive-looking rock formations.

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner oculusfilms brings us this fantastic drone video of Tangalooma Wrecks, a well-known "shipwreck" site in the eastern Australian state of Queensland.  The site is located off the western coast of Moreton Island on the northeastern side of Moreton Bay, near Brisbane.  It consists of over a dozen ships which were deliberately scuttled here in the early 1960's to form an aquatic recreation site.  It's since become an extremely popular spot for snorkeling and scuba diving.

Contributor and drone pilot NASA created this awesome aerial view of Cunningham's Gap, a well-known pass through the Great Dividing Range of mountains which runs up and down the eastern part of Australia.  This particular gap is in the northeastern state of Queensland, between the Darling Downs farming region on the western slope and the Fassifern Valley on the eastern.  The Great Dividing Range is actually a series of interconnected ranges which together are home to most of Australia's mountainous terrain.

The northeasern Australian state of Queensland has an enormously long coastline which covers nearly 7k km (around 4.3k mi).  Much of this expanse is on the state's eastern coast along the Coral Sea.  In this drone video by contributor Jeremie B, you'll get some great aerial views of a stretch of this enormous coastline which he covered over the course of a three week trip.  The starting point is the oddly named town of 1770 north of Brisbane, running about 1.4k km (aroun 900 mi.) north to Cape Tribulation.

Most of the best-known beaches on the enormous coastline of Australia's state of Queensland are on its southern end, in the area between the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast (with the state's largest city Brisbane roughly in the middle).  In this video, contributor Samuel Young gives us a beautiful bird's eye view of Thornton Beach, which lies far north of these more well known areas.  It's situated by Port Douglas, near the base of the gigantic Cape York Peninsula which forms the northernmost part of the state.

Enjoy these aerial views of Australia's Bribie Island, compliments of AirVuz contributor Oz Straya Panoramas.  Bribie Island is one of several islands which form the boundaries of Moreton Bay, just north of the city of Brisbane in the eastern state of Queensland.  Separated from the mainland by the Pumicestone Channel, the island is about 21 mi. long (34 km) and around 5 mi. across (8 km) at its widest point.  Of the island's 57 square mi. of surface area (148 square km), almost 40% is located within the Bribie Island National Park.

Australia's Moreton Bay, on which the Queensland capital city Brisbane sits, is formed by two islands: Moreton and North Stradbroke.  Until 1896, there was no North Stadbroke Island nor was there a South Sadbroke Island, there was just Stradbroke Island.  In that year, a gigantic storm caused the island to split in two, divided by the Jumpinpin Channel.  In this drone video by contributor and pilot Adam Macca, you'll get a beautiful bird's eye view of North Stradbroke Island, sometimes called "Straddie".

New AirVuz contributor pieterjohnsen used a DJI Mavic Air 2 to create this excellent drone video of the Glasshouse Mountains, a set of hills near the country's eastern coast in the state of Queensland.  The highest of the 13 hills is Mount Beerwah, which has a peak elevation of just over 550 meters above sea level (a bit over 1.8k ft.).   Rising abruptly from the coastal plain in the Sunshine Coast region (just north of Brisbane, the Queensland capital), the hills appear to be considerably taller.

Behold this stunning drone video of Mt. Barney, one of the most scenic peaks of Australia's Great Dividing Range.  With a peak altitude of 1.4k meters (4.5k ft.) above sea level, Mt. Barney is one of the tallest peaks in the state of Queensland.  It's about a 90 minute drive from Brisbane, the capital of Queensland, not far from the border with the neighboring state of New South Wales.   In this video from contributor NASa, you'll get a bird's eye view of this popular hiking spot in the interior of eastern Australia.

AirVuz contributor and pilot noah.creative brings us this excellent drone video of a giant new roller coaster under construction at one of Australia's premiere amusement parks.  The Leviathan rollercoaster will be the newest ride at Sea World Australia, which is located in the city of Gold Coast, on the southern end of the long coastline of Queensland.  Constructed of wood, the ride features backwards-facing seats and reaches speeds of almost 55 mph (almost 85 kph).  It is scheduled to open in the summer of 2021.

Drone King in Darwin brings us this excellent drone video of Australia's Airlie Beach, one of the jumping-off points for the Great Barrier Reef.  It's part of the Whitsunday Region, which is roughly in the middle of the very long eastern coastline of the state of Queensland.  Located on Pioneer Bay, it is one of the closest spots on the Australian mainland to the great reef, which stretches for roughly 1.4k mi. (around 2.3k km) on a roughly northwest-to-southeast axis parallel to the Queensland coast.

The Gold Coast area of southern Queensland is considered the heart of Australia's aquatic recreation culture.  Part of the reason for this is the presence of the Gold Coast Seaway, which connects the inland waterways created by the mouth of the Nerang River with the Pacific Ocean.  Seen here in this drone video by Oz Straya Panoramas, the seaway was constructed in the 1980's, providing safe passage for small watercraft which had been at the mercy of shifting sands along the bar which forms the eastern side of the waterway.

Check out this drone video of Australia's Fitzroy Island, compiments of AirVuz contributor maxfrompine.  Fitzroy Island lies off the coast of Queensland, the enormous state which covers the northeastern part of the country.  It's located about 30 km (just under 20 mi.) southeast of Cairns, the main city on Queensland's northern coastline.  The island is surrounded by reefs which are part of the Great Barrier Reef system. Covering an area of about 3 square km (just over a square mi.), the island is covered by a tropical rainforest.

While Australia is known for its beaches and deserts, what's less appreciated is that the country also hosts some impressive rainforests.  One of these is in a mountainous area around Main Range National Park in southeastern Queensland, not far from Brisbane.  Part of a chain of mountains called the Scenic Rim, it's one of Australia's natural treasures.  In this video by contributor and drone pilot NASa, you'll get a bird's eye view of the area, which is also home to some usual rock formations called "Steamers".

New contributor Oz Straya Panoramas shows off the impressive capabilities of the Autel Evo 2 drone in this impressive aerial video from a famous waterfall in Australia.  The waterfall is called Purling Brook Falls, which is a horsetail-type waterfall in the eastern state of Queensland.  It's located within the Gondwana Rainforests, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a short distance inland from Gold Coast.  Depending on the season and rainfall patterns, the falls has a single drop of about 100 meters (around 330 ft.).

Mitchell is only about an hour's drive west of Brisbane, the Queensland capital and the country's third-largest city.

The Australian city of Gladstone is home to one of the world's largest dry bulk commodity export ports, with annual throughput on the order of 100 million tons.  In this drone video by Aerial Media Gladstone, you'll get an aerial tour of the port's Auckland Point terminal, the oldest part of the port.  While Auckland Point originally primarily handled coal (which currently accounts for about two-thirds of the port's overall throughput tonnage), it's recently been converted to handle limestone.

The Australian state of Queensland has some of the world's top spots for boating, scuba diving, and other forms of aquatic recreation.  One of the state's gems in this regard is a shipwreck site off the western coast of Moreton Island, on northeastern side of Moreton Bay near Brisbane.  Just offshore from the town of Tangalooma, there is a cluster of 15 sunken ships that were deliberately scuttled to form a breakwater.  Seen here in this drone video by Man Meets the World, the Tangalooma Wrecks offer a boaters' and scuba divers' paradise.

Explore Australia's Lake Wivenhoe from above in this excellent drone video by AirVuz contributor Northeast Drone Productions.  The lake is a reservoir created for the Wivenhoe Dam, an embankment dam over the Brisbane River about an hour's drive northwest of the city of Brisbane in the eastern state of Queensland.  The primary purpose of the dam, which was contructed in the 1970's, is to provide fresh water to Brisbane, Australia's third-largest city; it also provides flood control and generates some hydroelectricity.

Relax and enjoy these calming aerial views of the serene beaches of Australia's Bribie Island, compliments of contributor SkyCinema.  The long, narrow island forms part of the northern side of Moreton Bay, an inlet of the Coal Sea just east of the city of Brisbane in the eastern state of Queensland.  While there is some suburban buildup on the southwestern part of the island, near the bridge which connected it to the mainland in 1963, much of its 57 square mi. (just under 150 square km) is uninhabited.

AirVuz contributor Northeast Drone Productions used a DJI Mavic 3 classic drone to create this beautiful aerial tour of Gold Coast, one of the main beach cities of eastern Australia and the second largest city (after Brisbane) in the state of Queensland.  It's located just north of the state border with New South Wales.  The video was filmed at sunrise flying over the Home of the Arts cultural district, which is located on the Nerang River in Surfers Paradise, an adjoining Gold Coast suburb.

(a little more than 500 km) north of Brisbane, Queensland's capital and principal city.   While Gladstone is more than 850 mi. (around 1.4k km) north of Queensland's southern border with the neighboring state of New South Wales, it's only about a quarter of the way to the north end of Queensland's enormously long eastern coastline.
