Check out this magnificent drone video of the South Pacific island of Guam, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Chrisky.  The US territory is part of Micronesia, the northernmost of the three main South Pacific island groupings.  The island covers about 510 square km (around 160 square mi.) and has a full-time population of around 160k.  Acquired by the USA during the course of the Spanish- American War, Guam was captured by the Japanese shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor and recaptured in a bitter battle in 1944.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Chrisky brings us this fantastic drone video from the US South Pacific territory of Guam.  Part of the Micronesia sub-region of the South Pacific, Guam covers a land area of around 540 square km (around 210 square mi.).  Settled over 4k years ago, Guam was "discovered" by Ferdinand Magellan in the early 16th century.  Captured by the USA from Spain during the Spanish-American War, Guam was subsequently captured by Japan shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Chrisky brings us this excellent drone video from the island of Guam, a United States territory in the Western Pacific region known as Micronesia.  The video features footage of the coastline of the island, the southernmost of the Mariana chain, as well as its hilly and largely jungle-covered  interior.  The island covers an area of about 210 square miles (around 540 square km), although most of its roughly 170k permanent residents live on its coastline.

Mt. Tenjo is the site of an important historical landmark on the US island territory of Guam.  More of a hill than a mountain, Tenjo overlooks Apra Harbor, the island's main deepwater port.  Seen here in this drone video by guamerial, Mt. Tenjo was fortified with seven heavy gun emplacements by the US Navy in the 1910s, shortly after the USA took control of the island in the Spanish–American War.  Unfortunately, the defensive positions were unable to protect the island from the Japanese invasion which occurred on December, 8, 1941.

Two Lovers Point

Two Lovers Point is a well-known spot on the US island territory of Guam.  Seen here in this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot guamaerial, the point is located on the island's northwestern shore.  The point is so named due to its association with a local legend involving two lovers who were kept apart by societal constraints and chose instead to leap to their deaths from the point.  Two Lovers Point is one of four National Natural Landmarks on the island, which is the westernmost territory of the United States.

While the US island territory of Guam is perhaps best known for its beaches, the interior of the island has many points of interest as well.  One of them is Lower Sigua Falls, which is located near the middle of the island, more or less due west from the coastal town of Piti.  Seen here in this drone video by AirVuz contributor and pilot guamaerial, Lower Sigua Falls is accessible via a trail that originates in the nearby town of Santa Rita.  The hiking is considered difficult and is not recommended for less experienced hikers.
