Cartagena is one of the largest cities in Colombia. It's situated on a natural harbor on the country's northern (Caribbean Sea) coastline. Founded by the Spanish in 1533, it became the critical seaport through which the vast gold and silver resources of Spain's gigantic New World empire were shipped to the home country. Still Colombia's leading port by tonnage, its well-preserved colonial churches and public squares speak to its historical importance. In more recent years, with the development of its ultra-modern Bocagrande district, it's become one of the most modern-looking of the South American cities. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from this beautiful city, known in Colonial times as Cartagena de Indias.
