Haiti is a country in the Caribbean Sea. With the Dominican Republic, it shares the island of Hispaniola, where Christopher Columbus landed on his first voyage from Spain in 1492. Ruled by Spain and then France for over three centuries, Haiti became an independent country following a slave rebellion in 1804. It is home to some of the most important historical and cultural spots in the Caribbean, as well as a beautiful mountainous interior and gorgeous white sand beaches. Here is a collection of the best drone videos from this beautiful land, which was devastated by an earthquake in 2010 and again by Hurricane Matthew in 2016. While Haiti is considered a Caribbean nation, some of its most beautiful (and historic) spots are actually along its northern coast, which is not on the Caribbean but rather the South Atlantic. This area has always maintained a distinctive flavor relative to the central and southern parts of the country. In this video by Malfini Photography, you'll get a drone's eye view of some of these spots, including Fort Picolet, Cap Haitien, Milot, La Citadelle, Cormier Plage, Baie de Cadras, and Ile Amiga.

Contributor Dronesantana007 used a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone to create this beautiful aerial view of Labadee, Haiti. This tourist enclave is located on the country's northern (Atlantic Ocean) coast, just a few km/mi northwest of the historical city (and Nord region capital) Cap Haitien. The Labadee port is controlled by Royal Caribbean Cruises (Ltd.) under a long-term lease which expires in 2050. A major cruise ship port of call, Labadee is essentially a private resort.

In this video, you'll get a bird's eye view of the Haitian island of Tortuga, compliments of contributor Malfini Photography. Tortuga is a smallish island which sits just off the northwestern coast of mainland Haiti. For nearly two centuries, Tortuga was intimately connected to Caribbean region piracy, and was a much feared name amongst shippers in the area. The mountainous island was depicted in the Pirates of the Caribbean series, although the actual filming took place in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Check out this fascinating drone video from Haiti, compliments of contributor irvsGOTit. He aerially filmed a town called Kenscoff, which is in effect a suburb of the capital city, Port-au-Prince. It is situated more or less due south of the larger city, although considerably further inland due to the shape of Port-au-Prince Bay. What makes this place unique is its altitude - at about 1.5k meters (almost 5k ft.) above sea level, it's the highest city or town in the entire Caribbean!

See the Caribbean island nation of Haiti from an entirely new perspective in this amazing first person view (FPV) drone video by contributor and FPV pilot wynn.fpv. He donned his video goggles and took a racing quadcopter around this country, which shares the island of Santo Domingo with the Dominican Republic. Flying by some of the country's fortresses, dams, and other landmarks, he brings this fascinating country to life from a totally unique point of view.

Contributor Max Stephan brings us this beautiful drone's eye view of the second highest mountain of Haiti, the Caribbean island nation. Mt. Makaya (Pic Macaya) lies on the Tuburon Peninsula, the lower (southern) "jaw" of the westward facing "mouth" of Haiti. With a peak elevation of around 2.35k meters (7.7k ft.) it's second only to Mt. Chaîne de la Selle, which lies to its east. Makaya is part of the Massif de la Hotte range which is home to some of the country's most bio-diverse areas.
