2023 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 6

AirVuz creator, drone pilot, and 2023 DVOY nominee Ananda Joinet brings us this fantastic aerial video of the other-worldly Bardenas Reales, a semi-arid region in the northern part of Spain.  The Bardenas Reales is situated in the semi-autonomous region Navarre, which is largely Basque-speaking but is not part of the official Basque Country region.  The highly distinctive rock structures which characterize the Bardenas Reales are a function of the area's unusual soil composition as well as wind and water erosion patterns.  

Every week, our team reviews every video uploaded to the site to pick the Top 5 videos. Then, we name our favorite as our Drone Video of the Week and send that drone pilot $ 250. Prepare to be amazed by this incredible first person view (FPV) showreel by top AirVuz contributor and FPV pilot siam fpv.  Covering his travel destinations from the previous year, the video features footage from the following countries/locations: Mexico, Costa Rica, the USA (San Francisco and Hawaii), French Polynesia, Australia, Indonesia (Bali), Malaysia, Vietnam, and Spain.  This video was picked as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week contest and was also named to the FPV Pilots to Watch list in February of 2023.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor Danny McMahon brings us this excellent drrone reel of his recent travelsthroughout the world.  The video features footage from the United Kingdom, Morocco, Greece, and the Maldives.  You will be treated to some excellent aerial views of spots like the Atlas Mountains, the Jurrasic Coast in South West England, a tiny atoll in the Indian Ocean, and more.  The reel was filmed with a DJI Air 2S drone, which weighs only about a pound (less than half a kg).  

Multiple Drone Video of the Week Winner Postandfly brings us this fantastic drone video from Mexico's Baja Peninsula.  The video opens with shots of Playa Balandra, just north of La Paz, on the eastern (Sea of Cortez) side of Baja.  Starting at the 1:04 mark, you'll see the Isla Espíritu Santo and the Isla Partida, two small islands a few mi./km further north.  Other featured locations include Todo Santos, near the southern tip of Baja on its western side (1:33); San Carlos, on Magdalena Bay, also on the western side (1:56); and more.  

Check out these stunning drone views of Italy's Dolomite Mountains, compliments of brand-new contributor and pilot AndreaSagui.  The video was filmed over Croda Da Lago, a massif located in the province of Belluno in the Veneto region.  Located near the fabled ski resort town of Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Croda Da Lago is accessible via an 8 mi. (12.5 km) round-trip trek of moderate difficulty, which affords an elevation gain of about 2.6k ft. or around 800 m.   The Dolomite Mountains are part of the Southern Limestone Alps.
