2023 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 29

Top AirVuz creator and 2023 DVOY nominee Muhamad AbuShakra brings us this stunning drone video of Palestine, the historical region of the Middle East now covered by the modern-day States of Israel and Palestine.  The video shares the magnificent natural and cultural scenery of this magical land, which played an important role in the birth of three major world religions.  Featured locations include the towns of Umm al-Fahm, Haifa, and Acre in northern Israel and the West Bank (Palestinian) towns of Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jericho, and Nablus.   

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Jan Barančík - DronistaCZ brings us this fantastic aerial video tour of Croatia, a Southeast European country which has become a top international travel destination.  The video features stunning shots of the country's interior mountains as well as the legendary Dalmatian Coast along the Adriatic Sea, which includes numerous islands of varying sizes.  Among other highlights, at the 1:18 mark, there's a spectacular shot of Šibenik, a historic port city in the central section of the Dalmatian Coast.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner and 2023 DVOY nominee oculusfilms brings us this magnificent drone video from the sand dunes of the vast Empty Quarter desert in Dubai, one of the kingdoms which makes up the United Arab Emirates.  Also known as the Rub' al Khali, the Empty Quarter covers roughly the southern one-third of the Arabian Peninsula, including much of the UAE and portions of Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman.  With a land area of about 250k square mi. (around 650k square km), it's considered one of the world's largest continuous deserts.  

Situated on the Zambezi River on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of Africa.  Seen here in this stunning drone video by top contributor davetke2002, the waterfall has a single drop of 354 ft. (108 m), about twice that of Niagara Falls.  What is even more impressive though is its width - 5.6k ft. (about 1.7k m), over twice the widest of the three waterfalls which make up the Niagara Falls complex.  Measured by the size of the water "curtain", Victoria Falls is the largest in the world.    

Explore the great Dutch city of Rotterdam in this excellent drone video by Rodoworld.  The video opens with shots of the Erasmusbrug bridge, which spans the Nieuwe Maas, a distributary of the Rhine River which runs through the heart of the city.  At the :36 mark, you'll see the White House, which was one of the few buildings in the center of the city not destroyed in the terror bombing during the Nazi invasion of the Low Countries in 1940.  Other highlights include the Willemsbrug bridge (:45), the Hotel New York (1:16), and more.
