2022 FPV Pilot of the Month

Legendary first person view (FPV) pilot JohnnyFPV has probably done more than anyone on the planet to introduce highly cinematic FPV footage into the main stream.  Whether it's filming commercials for Porsche or shooting FPV footage for the big-budget feature film Red Notice, he is at the forefront of this emerging art form.  No surprise then that he was tapped by the National Football League to help create promotional footage for the 2022 Pro Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, some of which you'll see in this epic video. 

Basketball games at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina are something of a cultural phenomenon.  With five NCAA Men's Basketball Championship wins and 16 Final Four appearances through the 2020-21 season, the Blue Devils are one of the most storied names in college sports.  Top AirVuz contributor Jay Christensen was able to use a first person view "Cinewhoop" style drone to capture the action with this amazing fly-through of the Cameron Indoor Stadium, home of the Blue Devils since it opened in 1940.

Prepare to be amazed by this stunning first person view (FPV) drone reel from top contributor and FPV pilot Mauro Pagliai.  Shot in Rome and other spots throughout Italy, the fast-moving video features a wide variety of FPV sequences, ranging from the ancient Colosseum to the skyscrapers and stadiums of modern Rome to some incredible movie-quality "cinewhoop" style scenes.  Brilliantly edited, this video was picked by the AirVuz editorial staff as the FPV Video of the Month for May of 2022.  

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) pilot flumz fpv put together this impressive reel showing the highlights of his first year as an FPV pilot.  Opening with a shot breaking through the clouds, the video will then take you on a loop around a hot-air balloon.  Then you'll chase an assortment of watercraft, be chased by (via a backward-facing camera) a BMX rider, then hit the slopes for a back-country ski chase.  Well worth a watch, this video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in June of 2022.  

SailGP is an exciting new sailing competition, featuring foiling catamarans that can reach speeds of over 60 knots - about 70 miles per hour or around 110 km/hr.  While they can be filmed by experienced first person view (FPV) drone pilots, what you'll see in this video by legendary FPV pilot JohnnyFPV goes way beyond that - watch as he flies UNDER the catamarans during a SailingGP event on Lake Michigan in Chicago.  This video was a shoo-in for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in July of 2022.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot Flowrizon brings us this magnificent FPV drone reel.  The reel opens with a shot swoopiong down on a sports car, followed by a cut to a windsurfer, then to a whitewater rafter.  Then it's a shot flying through a city, a wedding shot, and a rock band fly-by.  Starting at about the :42 mark, you'll skim along a coastal cliff, fly under a giant rock formation, chase a parasailer, then follow a very skilled BMX biker.  

Prepare to be astounded by this magnificent first person view (FPV) drone video from Indonesia by award-winning contributor Timelab.pro.   The video opens with some jaw-dropping shots of the Mt. Bromo volcano complex in the province of East Java.  Starting at about the 1:00 mark, you'll soar over the famous Sekumpul Waterfall in the interior of the island of Bali.  Other highlights include a skimming run along the Bali coastline (2:08), a flyover of Bali's satellite island of Nusa Penida (3:30), and more.  

Top AirVuz contributor Sky Candy Studios brings us this stunning first person view (FPV) drone video from Chicago's fabled Wrigley Field.  The video opens with some shots of the area around the stadium, which lies on the city's North Side.  At about the 1:35 mark, you'll head into the stadium itself, which opened in 1914 and has been the home of Major League Baseball's Chicago Cubs since the 1920's.  With current capacity of just over 41k, Wrigley Field was designated a National Historical Landmark in 2020.   

AirVuz contributor and first person view (FPV) drone pilot ilya_fpv brings us this excellent 2022 FPV reel.  In just the first few seconds, you'll fly over a glacier, chase a car over some salt flats, fly past a line of horses, and soar over Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington, the home of the University of Washington Huskies college football team.   Other highlights include a flyover of a music concert, a fantastic sequence chasing a skateboarder, and an epic dive down the Seattle Space Needle.
