2022 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 35

This brilliant drone video compilation by Dronescapes Ireland focuses on a series of mythical spots on the Emerald Isle.  It opens with shots of some of the country's ancient ruins, including the Loughcrew megalith in County Meath.  At the :16 mark, you'll see the remains of the 7th century Fore Abbey in County Westmeath.  At the :38 mark, you'll see the tower of Doonagore Castle, which lies on the Wild Atlantic Way in County Clare.  The video concludes with shots of the Dún Aonghasa fortress on the island of Inishmore.    

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner CINEMADRONE brings us this excellent drone video of Russia's only regularly-operated steam train.  The Ruskeala Express is a historic railway in Russia's Republic of Karelia, about 170 mi. (around 270 km) north of St. Petersburg.  The train runs a roughly one hour route between the town of Sortavala in southern Karelia on the northern shore of Lake Ladoga to the mountain park of Ruskeala, one of Karelia's top attractions and the site of some famous (now-disused) marble quarries.

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor AmanitoMuscario brings us this excellent drone video from one of the lesser known of Spain's Canary Islands: La Palma.  Also known as La Isla Bonita, La Palma is the fifth-largest of the archipelago (which lies off the coast of North Africa), and the northwesternmost island in the group.   Most of the footage was shot over La Palma's stunning coastline.  With a population of about 80k full-time residents, the entire island is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.  

Check out these magnificent drone views of a mountain getaway spot in northeastern Italy, compliments of AirVuz contributor and pilot Dream to Fly.  The video was filmed over and around the commune of Sappada in the historical province of Udine, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region.  Located in the Southern Limestone Alps close to the Austrian border and about 80 mi. (around 130 km) north of Venice, Sappada is largely German-speaking, as this area was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire prior to World War I.  

Due to its abundant rainfall, massive snowcaps, and unique geological features, Iceland is home to thousands of waterfalls, ranging from unnamed torrents flowing over highland cliffs to some of the biggest gushers in Europe.  In this beautiful drone video by top AirVuz contributor brendanbeale, you'll soar over some of these natural wonders, which can be found throughout this North Atlantic island nation.  The video was created with footage from a DJI Mavic Pro 3 as well as a DJI FPV drone.
