2022 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 18

Check out this drone video from Ireland by top contributor Drone Photography Ireland, which won the Drone Video of the Week contest in May of 2022.  The video opens with a brilliant shot of the Fanad Head Lighthouse in County Donegal, on the island's northwestern coast.  Then you'll head to Mt. Errigal, Achill Island, and Trim Castle in County Meath.  Other featured locations include Fore Abbey in County Westmeath, the Cliffs of Moher in County Clare, the famous shipwreck on the island of Inis Oírr, and more.  

Given their high speeds, rally raids, or cross-county rallies, are perfect for first person view (FPV) drone filming.  In this outstanding piece by AirVuz contributor Tramunt Media, you'll get to see some of this adrenaline-pumping action at the Baja Qatar race held in the Middle Eastern emirate of Qatar in March of 2022.  The race is part of the 2022 FIM Bajas World Cup, the premiere international rally raid competition.  This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April of 2022.  

Former Drone Video of the Week Finalist Richard Beresford Harris brings us this excellent drone video from a small but well-known mountain ridge in Switzerland's Bernese Highlands.  It's called Schynige Platte, and it consists of three distinct peaks:  Gumihorn, Tuba, and, Geiss, all of which have summit elevations of about 6.8k ft. above sea level or around 2.1k m.  The ridge also affords excellent views of some of the peaks of the (much taller) Bernese Alps, such as the Eiger and the Jungfrau.  

Check out this spectacular drone video from Denmark's Faroe Islands, compliments of DroneDirector.  The video features footage from Oyndarfjørður, on the northeastern island of Eysturoy; Gjógv, also on Eysturoy; Tjørnuvík, on the island of Streymoy; Húsavík, on Sandoy; Skarð, on the island of Kunoy; the sea stacks of Risin and Kellingin, off the coast of Eysturoy; Vatnsdalsfjall mountain on the island of Vagar; the islet of Trøllkonufingur, off the coast of Vagar; Trøllanes, on Kalsoy; the Bøsdalafossur waterfall on Vagar, and more.
