2022 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 10

Explore the sights and sounds of Iceland with this fantastic Drone Video of the Week Winner by AirVuz contributor O_chouaib.  Some of the featured locations include the Godafoss and Dynjandi Waterfalls (starting at the :16 mark), the fabled Fjadrargljufur Canyon (first appearing at the :21 mark), the Vatnajokull glacier (:39), the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon (:44), the Skógafoss waterfall (:58), the Reynisfjara black sand beach (1:08), the DC-3 plane wreck (1:10), the erupting Fagradalsfjall volcano (1:26), and more.  

Basketball games at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina are something of a cultural phenomenon.  With five NCAA Men's Basketball Championship wins and 16 Final Four appearances through the 2020-21 season, the Blue Devils are one of the most storied names in college sports.  Top AirVuz contributor Jay Christensen was able to use a first person view "Cinewhoop" style drone to capture the action with this amazing fly-through of the Cameron Indoor Stadium, home of the Blue Devils since it opened in 1940.   

Check out these fantastic drone views of the Low Country region of South Carolina in the Southeastern USA, compliments of top AirVuz contributor and pilot Clark Lupton.  The video, which features a mix of gimbal-stabilized shots and first person view (FPV) drone footage, was filmed over this region, which is not precisely defined but which generally coincides with the plains which lie along most of the state's Atlantic Ocean coastline.  This video was picked as a Finalist for the Drone Video of the Week in March of 2022.  

Top AirVuz contributor Drone Photography Ireland was picked as a DVOW Finalist for this excellent video of Ireland's Achill Island.  Located off the Corraun Peninsula in County Mayo in the western part of the country, it's Ireland's largest "satellite" island.  Achill has been inhabited since the fourth or fifth millennium BC, possibly earlier.  Covering about 150 square km (a bit under 60 square mi.), the island has a permanent population of a bit under 3k.  Since the 1880s, the island is connected to the mainland via a bridge.    

Take a tour of the storied Brittany region of northwestern France in this fantastic piece by top AirVuz contributor Julien Hulin.  The video opens with some shots from the deep woods of the region, which is home to some of the last remaining ancient forests of France.  Among the other highlights of the video, at about the :36 mark, there's a great shot of Fort-la-Latte, which lies on a peninsula of the Emerald Coast near Saint-Malo.  This video was picked as a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in March, 2022.
