2021 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 35

This adrenaline-pumping first-person view (FPV) action reel by top AirVuz content creator ShaggyFPV features some of the best dynamic/chase FPV footage we've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.  The extremely talented Dutch pilot manages to pack something for everyone in less than 150 seconds.  You'll chase rollercoasters, radio-controlled turbine jets, snowboarders, and more, before you even get to the half-minute mark!  If it moves fast, you'll find it here.  This video was picked as the DVOM for August, 2021 and was a DVOY finalist.  

AirVuz contributor and drone pilot Matt Dahlberg brings us this fantastic drone video of a famous volcano in Guatemala.  Pacaya is part of the Central American Volcanic Belt.  Its caldera was formed in an eruption which occurred about 23,000 years ago, a blink of an eye in geological terms.  The volcano has been erupting more or less continuously since 1961, following about seven decades of dormancy.  It rises to a height of just under 8.4k ft., or about 2.6k m.  Pacaya is less than an hour's drive southwest of Guatemala City.  

This outstanding drone video by flyinghighaz will show you the Southwestern USA's Salt River during different times of the year.  The location is an area on the lower portion of the river about 50 mi. (around 80 km) east of (and upstream from) Phoenix, Arizona.  The greenery of the area immediately surrounding the river stands in stark contrast to the surrounding portions of the Sonoran Desert.  The video also features some excellent aerial footage of the wild horses which live along this stretch of the river.  

Explore the Greek island of Crete from the perspective of a first person view (FPV) drone in this amazing piece by top AirVuz content creator Jturner.  Featured locations include the city of Chania with its old Venetian port, which lies on the island's northwestern coast; Balos Beach, which lies on a peninsula west of Chania; the small town of Paleochora, on the southern coast; Gialiskari Beach; Loutro; Agia Roumeli; Knossos Palace; and Skinaria Beach near Plakias.  This was a Drone Video of the Week Finalist in September, 2021.
