Top AirVuz contributor and pilot snorrithor does it again with this fantastic drone video of a volcanic eruption on the North Atlantic island of Iceland. Following a series of earthquakes in late 2020 and early 2021, Geldingadalir began erupting on March 21. The subject of the video is a second eruption, which began on April 5th when a fissure about 1.5 km (roughly a mile) from the original eruption opened up and began spewing hot lava. This video was picked for the FPV Pilots to Watch list in April, 2021.

For viewers who associate this giant Middle Eastern country only with arid desert, this video will come as a big surprise. The video was filmed in Iran's northern provinces, which run through the mountains ringing the southern Caspian Sea and are seemingly a world apart - these are lands of forested mountains, with near-rainforest climatic conditions.
