2020 Drone Videos of the Week: Episode 47

Top AirVuz contributor and pilot Dronographer brings us this stunning drone video of Austria's Wachau Valley.  Crossed by the Danube River, the Wachau is one of the most popular destinations in Lower Austria, the northeastern region of this Central European country.  The video, which won Drone Video of the Week, features footage from the following locations in Wachau, which has been inhabited since Prehistoric times: Krems an der Donau, Melk, the Benedictine Göttweig Abbey, Weißenkirchen in the Wachau, Dürnstein Castle, and more.  

For a first upload to AirVuz, brand-new contributor nirmitchetwani brings us this magnificent DVOW nominated video of Alaska.  Shot during the wintertime in temperatures as low as 30 degrees below zero Celsius (minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit), the video will take you over the stunning landscapes of the USA's 49th state.  You'll fly over snow-covered forests and frozen lakes, heading into the mountains which cover much of the Last Frontier.   Alaska covers a land area of almost 1.5 million square km (around 572k square mi.), twice the size of Texas.

Former Drone Video of the Week Winner Dronescapes by Atellani brings us this breathtaking aerial highlight reel from across the great Alps Mountains of Europe.  The DVOW nominated video features footage from  Passo San Marco in the Bergamo Alps of northern Italy; the Dolomite Mountains of northeastern Italy, part of the Northern Limestone Alps; Susten Pass in Switzerland, Hasliberg in the Swiss Alps; St. Bernard Pass, which connects the canton of Valais in Switzerland with the Val d'Aosta in Italy; Switzerland's Furka Pass; and more.  

Brand-new AirVuz contributor yuriy stolypin brings us this excellent drone video from the great Russian city of St. Petersburg.  Some of the featured locations include (in order of first appearance) the Hermitage Museum at the :11 mark, Trinity Cathedral (:45), the Fortres of Peter and Paul (1:10), the Peterhof Palace (1:25), the Old Saint Petersburg Stock Exchange and Rostral Columns (1:30), St. Isaacs Cathedral (1:45), Lakhta Center (2:10), the Aurora cruiser ship museum (2:27), and more.  This video was a DVOW finalist in November, 2020.

Top contributor and drone pilot Seven Roads Media brings us this fantastic DVOW nominated video from San Diego, California.  The video opens with a shot of the pier of Pacific Beach, just north of Mission Bay, before cutting to the Cove area of La Jolla.  At the :18 mark, there's a nice timelapse of the city's harbor, followed by some nice shots of San Diego's legendary surfing scene.  Other shots include the Mission Beach Rollercoaster (aka the Giant Dipper), the Pacific Surfliner passenger train on the Pacific Coastal Highway, and more.
