A single continuous aerial shot over the Gara del Solco, filmed with a DJI Mavic 4 Pro in Rocca di Mezzo, Abruzzo.

From above, the camera follows the long furrows traced across the fields during one of the most ancient and unique traditions of the Italian Apennines.

First documented in 1625, the Gara del Solco is a nighttime competition in which teams attempt to trace a furrow almost 3 km long, as straight as possible toward the light of San Calvario overlooking the village.

This uninterrupted drone sequence reveals the landscape, the extraordinary length of the furrows and their convergence toward Rocca di Mezzo from a unique aerial perspective.

In 2025, the tradition celebrated its 400th edition.
