As of 2023, the tallest skyscraper in South America is the subject of this drone video by AirVuz contributor AyM.DJI.DRONE: Costanera Center 2, also known as Gran Torre, which is located in the city of Santiago, Chile. Designed by famed architect César Pelli, it's one of the tallest buildings ever constructed in an earthquake zone. Completed in 2013, the 62 story office tower has an architectural height of 974 ft. (300 m). Since 2015, the top two floors of the building are part of an observation deck which is open to the public.

Su edificio central, la Gran Torre Santiago, cuenta con un área total de 128.000 m², tiene una altura de 297 metros incluida la espiral (300 metros hasta el último de sus 62 pisos) y está equipado con 24 ascensores de alta velocidad que pueden alcanzar un máximo de 6,6 metros por segundo. Con estas características, la Gran Torre Santiago es el rascacielos más alto de Sudamérica y fue el más alto de Latinoamérica desde 2012 hasta marzo de 2020, cuando la Torre Obispado de 305 metros, ubicada en Monterrey,México. le arrebató ese lugar.
