Sassariente & Cima di Sassello - Autumn Edition 🍁

Scenic loop over two rocky peaks, along a historic stone wall and with a final climb to the summit.  

From the summits of the Cima di Sassello and the Sassiarente a breathtaking panoramic view opens up to us. To the south, Lake Maggiore lies at our feet, to the north the wild Verzasca Valley stretches out with its steep mountain slopes and behind it, the many peaks of the Ticino and Grisons Alps rise in the distance. To the west, even the mighty, snow-capped four-thousand-metre peaks of the Valais Alps can be seen on the horizon . But it is not only the view from the two peaks that is worth seeing, the path to them is too. For some time we walk along a stone wall, the "Muraglia polacca". It was probably built in 1924 by Polish prisoners as protection against fire and ravenous goats. The climb to Sassariente is also worth seeing. Long, narrow wooden stairs and bridges cling to the steeply sloping rock. Surefootedness and a head for heights are a must here!
