AIRVŪZ STAFF NOTE :
Contributor and pilot Obendrohne created this drone video of a well-known castle in the Central Bohemia region of the Czech Republic. It's called Točník Castle, and it's situated in the eponymously named town in the Beroun District. The great landmark was built in the 14th centuries under King Wenceslaus IV, who ruled over the Kingdom of Bohemia for about 45 years beginning in 1376. The castle played a key role in the Hussite Wars, a violent struggle which raged through Czech lands in the early 15th century.

#OBENDROHNE - The castle Točník (Totschnik) was built before the year 1398 by King Wenceslas IV. One of the king's most important residences, Žebrák Castle, was badly damaged by fire and although Wenzel had the castle repaired, this event was crucial for the construction of a new castle near Žebrák. The construction of Točník Castle was progressing rapidly. Already in the year 1400 Wenceslas IV brought a part of the royal treasures to Točník. The new castle towered over Žebrák not only by the higher location, but also by the splendor and prestigious premises. The complex was in three parts with a residential palace and another palace building, which was equipped with a large hall, probably for diplomatic purposes. The first mention of the royal chamber town dates back to 1280. Already in the 13th century Žebrák became a busy market town. She was well on the way, which ever connected Prague with Pilsen and continued to Bavaria. In 1396, King Wenceslas IV Žebrák raised to the city. Not far from the town lies the castle Žebrák (beggars), which was built in the 13th century, and the later built castle Točník (Totschnik). Under King Charles IV, Žebrák undoubtedly served the king as a transfer station during his travels to Nuremberg. The castle gained in importance when the king had acquired New Bohemia, the Upper Palatinate and Upper Franconia. To secure the travelers, Charles IV had the castle and the village surrounded by a wall. King Wenceslas IV had a residential building built next to the castle to make his stay more comfortable. 🔴 ⌘ If you like my video: Comment, 👍 upload, share and subscribe!
