Moving Pictures

These are all scenes from my home state of Utah.  The majority of video was taken in and around the Salt Lake valley with the Oquirrh mountains to the west, the larger Wasatch Mountains to the east and the famous Great Salt Lake to the northwest. The Salt Lake valley is home to approximately 1.3 million people.  The area is also home to several, world known ski resorts including Alta and Snowbird.

Nearly all of the clips were captured using the hyperlapse function of the Mavic 3 Pro.  The process involves capturing a series of hundreds of still photographs as the drone moves slowly across the sky - Thus, the title Moving Pictures.  The still photos are edited as a group in either Lightroom or Capture RAW and then compiled into a video clip using After Effects.  Motion tracking is then applied to stabalize the movement as well as noise reduction using NEAT Video.  The final editing is done using Premiere Pro.
