We’ve told you stories about anti-drone eagles, nets and guns used by law enforcement agencies around the world. The United States has been considering various defense strategies, and may have found their device of choice. According to a leading international news source, The Pentagon and US Department of Homeland Security have purchased 100 DroneDefenders, a gun-like anti-drone system created by Battelle. Look familiar? That’s because we told you about the DroneDefender in February when the company announced they were focusing sales on governmental agencies. The 15 pound portable device can take down drones up to 400 meters away. It works in 2 ways, either disrupting the remote control connection between the drone and the drone pilot or shutting down the targets’ GPS system. Battelle says the device is only available to government agencies, not the commercial or private sector, due to FCC regulations. Follow AirVūz News for the latest updates in the drone community!
